The next few years are a critical period in establishing LPG as a fuel with growing importance and this role is central to achieving that goal for the UK industry. LPG is a cleaner alternative to oil and can provide an immediate route to reduce emissions, with the future introduction of bio-LPG creating a long term solution for many sectors.
The Public Affairs Manager is responsible for developing and promoting the UKLPG position with regard to energy and transport policies. This includes the analysis of information to support the position, development of appropriate arguments and the delivery of these to relevant officials in Government and the devolved administrations.

Equally important is the ability to communicate these to, and synthesise the views of, UKLPG members through the Trade Association management team structures and present the outcome persuasively to relevant bodies and individuals, both in written form and face to face.
The Public Affairs Manager will develop relationships with key Government officials, political assistants and industry members, and run a UKLPG contact programme with Ministers, relevant MPS and officials. The role also involves identifying other policy issues that may affect the LPG industry and member companies and developing responses to these.
Additionally the role will support the Chief Executive in developing common industry positions regarding public or policymaker facing operational matters that the Board consider fall within the remit of the trade association.
The role is based in Kenilworth as this is where the team is located and co-ordination of activity is essential. However, the job requires frequent travel to London and regular travel elsewhere in the UK and Europe, particularly working with UKLPG member firms.
